[Briefly, the network receives a transmission from Sasuke's pokégear. The feed shows a dark bedroom, a pokéball and a note on a bed as the sun starts to set, its light filtering in through the nearby window. The note on the bed reads 'To Sasuke', and when the gear drops it shows him just standing there.

It's like that for a good few minutes before the feed clicks off again.]

[Some time later, Sasuke decides to send out a quick text to the entire network. He does have something he has to say to the others he's travelling with later, but right now he wants to get this out first.]

Why do you battle your pokémon?

[He doesn't even know what to expect out of that question, only that he's probably going to get a lot of responses and he's probably not going to agree with all of them, or possibly any of them. But he's feeling lost, and maybe it'll help give him a clue. In the meantime, though, he has something else he wants to steel himself for.]

I'm leaving Vermillion tonight, through the Diglett Tunnel. I'm going alone.

I could go with you for a little while.

Why do you want to come with me?

Because we're friends.

And I don't think you really want to be alone.

[Long silence and he's kind of glad that Sora can't see his face right now. It takes him a little bit to regain enough composure to answer.]

... I need the time away.

Are you saying that to me or trying to convince yourself?

[Grr. Sora keeps stumping him and it's annoying. And he heaves a big sigh, because he's starting to figure that he's not going to be able to shake the guy that's almost as stubborn as a few other people he knows.]

You want to come with me that badly?

Well I really don't want to leave you all by yourself.

I can take care of myself.

[Sasuke you're not winning this...]

I didn't say you can't?

[Stunned into silence again.]

... Fine. [Yes he will be a total brat about it Sora, what made you think he'd react differently?]

Just....

One more thing.

[A pause.] What is it?

Make sure you at least say bye to Kairi.

She'll get mad.

. . .

I will.

[Even if he's not sure whether or not Kairi wants to see him now. Not with what she knows, and not when he's going off with Sora. He knew what he was doing when he shared that information with her and now... He's going to have to deal with the consequences of it.]
