[When the video feed pops up, it briefly shows the sunny sky and some of the familiar scenery of New Bark Town before a rather unimpressed boy appears on screen. The music has already started to irritate him (since he can't seem to find the source and, eerily enough, it's everywhere), but that's not all that's bothering him.

In fact, one of his eyes visibly twitches when an excited chirp sounds and a cute orange bird peeks at the PokéGear's screen. It seems like he's still thinking over exactly what he wants to ask however, and after he manages to coax the bird to sit still -- well, for the moment anyway -- he finally turns to the PokéGear and indicates the creature beside him.]

What is this thing?

[Someone isn't very talkative. Then again, there are several other things wrong that he'd rather not bring up, all things considered.]

The people here all seem to come from different worlds...

[At that he just looks skeptical, raising a brow at her at the words.]

[Use to the skeptical reaction from newcomers. She found it hard to believe too when she first arrived here]

You'll get use to the idea.

[He finds that hard to believe, and his face shows it, but who knows. He probably shouldn't completely discredit it, considering the monster he's encountered before. It doesn't take him too long to decide to change the topic to another more pressing question however.]

Is there anyway to go back?

Not by choice...people do return but it happens randomly.

[Or it seems to anyway...if there's a pattern or a set of requirements for returning no one has discovered it yet...]

But no one returns willingly. [Well that's wonderful. He's here with no ninjutsu, no way home, and no idea where he was. Although his expression is fairly flat, it does give away a little bit of his frustration at the statement. He had to figure out how to get back so he could continue his training.

On the bright side, Rima's going to get treated to a bit of comedy via Torchic. Who seems to have decided that Sasuke's head would be a good perch, so there's Torchic climbing away on his shoulder to try and reach his head.]

[Nods] Some have left and returned with memories intact...but no one remembers how...

[She was in a similar situation at the beginning of the year, but at least he's still the same species as he was before...]

...apparently we don't miss anything though.

[Rima just watches with a blank expression. She's amused, mostly because Torchic reminds her of Emolga, but it doesn't show. Spheal on the other hand is far more expressive and claps her flippers together in approval!]

[Sasuke's probably the only one who isn't amused, and after a moment he reaches up to lift Torchic and sit it on his lap. It doesn't seem like Torchic particularly minds however, as it just peeps and nods to the camera again.]

Then what do we do while we're here?

[Spheal rolls onto her side and lifts a giant flipper to wave back]

Whatever you want. [He'll either be a trainer or a breeder...but it's not as if that restricts what he can do...]

[Helpful... He still doesn't quite know where to start.]

... What do you do?

[She can be...but questions need to be specific...]

Mostly training Pokemon and traveling. You can collect badges on the way if you're interested. [Though she only has the two she needs...]

Badges? [He raises a brow at her and suddenly seems more alert and interested in the conversation.] What does collecting those do?

They let you use HMs outside of battle and some gym leaders will give you those as rewards too.

[She retrieves her bag from a shelf and starts to search through it for Fly since he probably won't have heard of these yet]

[There's definitely a lot to read up on, and Sasuke is regarding that now at least. But at the moment he's watching intently to see just what she's doing.]

[Pulls out a small disk after a few moments and holds it up to the screen]

Fly. If you teach it to a Pokemon it makes traveling a lot quicker. But to use it as more than an attack you need the badges from Violet and Cianwood.

... A disk can teach a pokemon how to fly?

[He's not quite sure what's more wrong with this, the fact that the pokemon couldn't just fly to begin with or the fact that tiny little disks can apparently teach stuff like this.]

You just break it over their head...and the Pokemon learns it.

[She does realise how silly this sounds...but unfortunately it's true. Or fortunately, if you like simple things]

...it's a game. Go along with it.

[She can guess what he's thinking because her opinion on this is very similar...]

[He seems thoughtful at that - the logic behind it makes his head hurt, so he's just trying to get to the parts that hurt any concept he has of reality less.]

They're only usable once because they break?

TMs are. HMs can be put back together and can be reused.

[The former can't because of Pokemon logic...]

[Aaaaaaand reality's broken to him. There is just no way that is true.

Well he had to find out sooner or later anyway...best to be prepared]

[Yeah he really believes her there.

He's stuck in a permanent frown as he just glances down at Torchic again, more than a little frazzled. He's seen all kinds of strange things (and, he'll be honest, he's probably done quite a few things a lot of these people couldn't even dream a person could do), but the machines are just ridiculous.]

... I'll remember it if I run into them.
