Did you know that while I was asleep for a year, none of my friends even knew I existed?

... No.

It's true! When I woke up and got to Radiant Garden, they told me.

But that's just it. When I woke up again? They remembered. And they never stopped being my friends just because they forgot.

So, a heart never really forgets anything. It's still there, deep down.

Pfft. Riku and I were just about enemies for a while and he still ended up saving me. Just look at us. We're still best friends even after all that.

Axel? He pretty much kidnapped Kairi once. Still saved me. Twice. Doesn't stop him from being my friend now either. If he was in trouble, I'd be there to help him like any one else.

What I guess I'm really trying to say is... If I tell you that you're my friend and that I'll never stop being your friend, then that's true. Nothing you do will change that. Even if you don't believe me or don't trust me, it doesn't matter. You'll always be my friend and I feel a little stronger just knowing that.

I can understand some of that. Doesn't mean that you should forget it either. It's like I said... Your memories make up who you are, good or bad.

You can't appreciate the good times without the bad.

[Silence again, and he fails to answer Sora completely then.]

I still don't understand why you want to be friends with someone like me.

Who wouldn't want to be? You're kinda mopey, but you're really someone who feels strongly about a lot of things.

Yeah, you're kind of a chicken too, but you want to protect yourself just as much as protect the people close to you.

Maybe that's why? Other than I think you just need more people that just want to help you and accept you.

[It takes him a while, and when he does it he's incredibly quiet. But, he does eventually say something else to Sora.]
