Getsukage is anxious and intimidated by almost everything, almost to the point of being an outright coward. Ino (Crobat) has tried to approach him like she had with Sakura (Lucario), but unlike with Sakura it seems like her efforts have failed with Getsukage. He will try to hide behind Sasuke at every opportunity and doesn't like to battle or to be near the other pokémon, although the latter is slowly beginning to improve. When he's battling in the wild, he always carries himself with the confidence to win, but it doesn't seem to transfer to battles with pokémon that have the same kind of training experience he does. He is a strong battler once he focuses solely on the task before him, but until he does he will freeze and let anxiety and doubt get the better of him. Sasuke has started to get a little frustrated trying to give Getsukage the self-confidence to battle well all the time, but he's willing to put the effort in, causing Getsukage to admire his trainer Sasuke and at least heed his words (along with gaining admiration for the other pokémon who can be just as confident as he wants to be).
